11 Jul Summer in the French Alps – June
The best news this month is my Wysteria here in Villaroger has FLOWERED… i’m so happy, they sprung to life within 2 weeks of me saying they were dead and nearly gone. Our garden looks so much better for it.
Work has started on the new lift in Les Arcs 1950 , the Pre de Sainte Esprit. This will improve massively the route from Villaroger to Les Arcs via the Rhonaz track and then the new lift up into Les Arcs 2000. We will be at Arcabulle in Les Arcs 2000 in no time. They are also putting in some high spec snow making factory to bring snow over to Villaroger and providing water to make snow in Villaroger with the new snow cannons at temperatures -2 or lower.
We are hoping Villaroger, Les Arcs will open around the 16th/17th Dec this year, fingers crossed.
The Glaciers in Tignes and Val D’Isere open this month and everyone can ski there. Open early from 7am until lunchtime before it gets too hot
Worked has started on our road into the village of Le Loissel to widen it at the bottom. The road is now shut between 0830 and 1200 and then 1330 to 1700 meaning we have to be very organised at the minute.
They have also stone cladded the fire hut and re roofed it so its all looking good.
We had a day trip over to Italy yesterday as Jonny had been walking the Tour du Mont Blanc and came from Chamonix to Courmeyeur by bus and we collected him.
We had some lovely gelato and Mont Blanc was looking as glorious as ever.
The girls have been down to the high rope adventure with their friends and also to the outdoor swimming pools that are all open now.
We have been decorating in the Chalet and had some new photos taken to update the website. Hope you like them.
For all our regulars Babear the cat is still around and sat outside on the steps, waiting for anyone who will show him some love. He’s such a character and obviously missed the company he has from you all in the Winter.
We have been out on our bikes and have done the Cormet de Roselend, Col d’Iseran and the Petit Saint Bernard. Anneha and Jonny did the Madeleine too which they both said was one of the toughest they have done.It didn’t help that it was 36 degrees that day.
Bookings are coming in for next winter… Ski weekends, short breaks as well as weekly stays. Ski Les Arcs, La Plagne, Sainte Foy, Val D’Isere, Tignes and La Rosiere .. ski safari are us!!!
