NOVEMBER – GREAT START WITH FRESH SNOW

NOVEMBER – GREAT START WITH FRESH SNOW

We have had fresh snow over the last week and it’s even snowed in our village here in Le Loissel, Villaroger today. The Tignes Glacier is open already and the rest of the resort is due to open on the 19th. Friends were skiing powder yesterday on the Tignes Glacier, not bad for early November.

Val D’isere is due to open at the end of  November and Les Arcs, La Plagne, Sainte Foy and La Rosiere open on the 14th December so all looking good for Pre Xmas Skiing

We have done some decorating in the chalet and given the sofa a facelift with new cushion covers and we’ve bought new curtains. Hard to get rid of that sofa as it’s a perfect fit and a cosy comfy place to curl up infront of the fire with a gin and tonic after a day on the slopes.

It’s become a lot colder which means the resorts can get their snow cannons on and start producing snow for later use. Much of the snow is made in the early months when the temperatures are cold to stock pile for when the weather warms up and the natural snow starts disappearing fast.

We have more snow cannons this year in Villaroger and as we were still skiing down to the bottom of the village until the end of the second week in April this year we should be doing the same again this season.

Looking forward to seeing the new blue piste for beginners that Villaroger have made.

I’ve bought my new Scott Skis so will hopefully be on the slopes Val d’sere opening day. The World Cup ski racing is taking part in Dec as normal in Val d’sere se we will go and cheer the racers on.

We have been testing recipes these last few weeks. Lots of pumpkins ripe at the moment and the flavour is very intense from the home grown ones. Roasted pumpkin soup with Gruyere cheese has been a hit in our house.

We had a trip to Italy and stocked up on some local produce for the Winter. Nice olive oil, parmesan cheese and Farro which I love.

Lot’s of availability for the coming season including Pre Xmas and Xmas week from £85 pp per night. Easter week 5th April onwards has no rooms booked either. Click here for prices

Don’t forget you can book by the room or the whole chalet and all our prices include all inclusive unlimited drinks.
