08 Nov NOVEMBER – COUNTDOWN TO THE START
Its November and here at our chalet in Les Arcs we are preparing for the opening in December.
Val D’isere and Tignes are opening at the end of November and we have had over a metre of snow high up within the last week. We get regular updates from Les Arcs and the pisteurs of Val d’isere which I try and share on our Skivillaroger Face Book page, so please like our page and keep up to date re conditions.
I’m also an eyeball reporter on snow forecast.com so you should see regular updates on their too via Skivillaroger twitter when you scroll down just below the weather.
Les Arcs celebrates it’s 50th Anniversary this year and as a result is offering a 1 day free lift pass to anyone also turning 50 between 15th December and 27th April. You just need to bring your ID for proof of age.
The snow cannons in Villaroger have been working all ready. Les Arcs is due to open on the 15th December.
We have new free parking in our village this year which is nearly finished. It will accommodate up to another 8 cars.
The new Comborciere lift is practically finished and there is a long red run down into Les Arcs 1950 which will be pisted. Another great link from us here in Villaroger to access Les Arcs 1600 quickly.
La Rosiere opens its new ski area this year. I’m sure we will be sampling it on our Off Piste Courses this year although they have some listed runs on it too.
For all you powder hounds Off Piste skiing in Les Arcs is amazing and our off piste courses involve skiing in all the different resorts we have close by. They are aimed at people who like to have a go off piste but would like to improve their technique.
The week of 15th December sees all our resorts open and Millionaire skiing on quiet well groomed pistes and no queues. A great time to visit and we still have lots of availability.
Just a reminder our accommodation in Villaroger Les Arcs is perfect for skiing up to 7 different resorts ( Les Arcs/La Plagne, Sainte Foy ( great for off piste) Val D’Isere , Tignes and La Rosiere where we ski to La Thuile in Italy , Aosta Valley.
