5th Jan 2007

The snow has arrived, about 70 cm in the last 72 hours so everyone is very happy.Reports are now that the snow we have above 2000m is actually above average depth for this time of year, so ignore all the hype in the newspapers re poor snow.

We feel that the pistes have been looked after really well and enabled all our guests to get good skiing in during their stay.We had a lovely time with the xmas guests and NY has been just the same with the Robinsons and Varleys.

We skied in Villaroger Wednesday and had powder conditions all day. The Lanchettes chair from 2000 did not open so it meant we had Villaroger to ourselves. It was so quiet, just locals and people staying in and around here. It was one of those days that only ever happens now and again and we made the most of it.We skied accross to peisey vallandry yesterday and the snow through the trees was perfect. Rob, Vic, Mat and Ema followed Jonny off the sides and loved it!!!

For NY eve we watched the fireworks in the square at Villaroger and then had a meal and champagne at the chalet. Some of us then went on to the Monal where a live band was playing. We stayed there until about 130am, everyone was up dancing and it was a good atmosphere. We then had a late breakfast and skied the next day.

Michelle at La Ferme has opened and we have been calling in there after skiing as usual. I am having a bit of a party there in a couple of weeks so we have been finalising the food etc.

The girls are back to school on Monday which will give us a bit more free time. Fi put her new skis on for the first time on xmas day but only lasted about 5 mins. We will keep trying her. Anneha will be skiing with the club this coming week now Villaroger is open.

Will close for now but add some pics shortly.

Anneha has lost her first tooth and the next is on its way out!

Michelle at La Ferme is due to open 16th Dec and have seen him passing every day, getting ready for the start of the season. The owner at the Middle restaurant in Villaroger. Le Solliet, has handed it over to someone else to run this season and I hear they are doing crepes as a speciality!!Guess where we will be stopping on the ski back down.

Well we are all getting excited and trying to get fit for the season. Jonny and I are both on the bike when we push ourselves, otherwise we are making the most o watching TV in an evening as another week and there will be no time for that!!!

Look forward to seeing you this winter!!!!
