26th June 2011

The 1st of June found us with 15cm of snow here in Le Loissel. They had 40cms of snow in Tignes and 20cm’s in Ste Foy. The week before we had temperatures in the late 20’s, UNBELIEVABLE !

After that little hiccup ,the  weather has continued to be great and we have been caravanning in Annecy. We now have our own caravan, its an oldish model but perfect for our first caravanning experience . As its only 1.5 hours away a weekend in Annecy is perfect for us.

We have found a lovely new  restaurant in Tignes right on the lakefront. Here are a couple of photos from there.

We did the Parcours adventure again at the bottom of our road. Anneha is now tall enough to do the adult one, she did really well because its quite challenging in places. Ffi stayed on the children’s one.

The Outdoor pool in Bourg St Maurice opens this week and we will be heading down there as much as we can. The girls break up on 1st July for 9 weeks so i’m sure we will get plenty of opportunity to go.

Passion my neighbour’s horse is lame so we have not been able to ride her for a while. I did visit the stables the other day as i was having withdrawl symptoms. We had a really fast ride through the forest. The Race de Savoie passed right through our  Village in June, and we cheered them on. 18 teams of guys under 26, a few of whom will be signed up proffessionally as a result of this race. Future Tour de France contestants !

I’m heading to www.frenchridingholidays.com in October for an Adventure week, and hopefully try out their new cross country course. If anyone fancies a riding holiday you must look them up , you will have a fabulous time !

We have replaced the floor in the lounge /kitchen area now with oak  and it looks great.

We are taking bookings already for next season so please get in touch if you fancy a trip this Winter.

Jonny passed his  Summer Mountain Leader course in June and is now concentrating on his training for International Mountain Leader. He is now qualified to take guided walks out anywhere in the world except France which is why he is doing more qualification. When he is qualified we will be offering guided walking holidays in the Spring/Autumn.

We have had some bookings from Motor Cyclists to come and bike the Cols and ride the Alpine roads, so hoping word of mouth will pass on that we are a great location for Bikers. With tarmac roads and flat off road parking we are in an ideal location. Here are a couple of photos taken of the terrace and our view!

We are heading off in July in the caravan to see a little more of France and hopefully head over into the Costa Brava in Spain. Will let you know how we get on !!!
