Skiing, Off Piste Courses and Back Country in Les Arcs with Skivillaroger.

We’ve had snow here in Villaroger, Les Arcs , infact right down to the Valley bottom in Bourg Saint Maurice. We now have a winter wonderland and it looks beautiful.

Tignes Glacier has excellent conditions and you can ski right down to Val Claret. Its looking good for the opening of the full Resort and Val D’isere at the end of the month.

Jonny skinned up Sainte Foy on the 12th Nov and had a good ski down…check out this video

We’ve just heard that the Alpine World Cup in Beaver Creek, Colarado has had to be cancelled there due to lack of snow and now taking place in Val D’Isere as we have snow… Yeah Tarentaise Valley comes up trumps again for early season snow.

This means we now have World Cup Racing three weekends on the trot in Val.

We will be heading up to watch and the girls will be trying their hardest to get VIP passes to meet the racers.

We held a Macmillan Coffee Morning at my friend’s house last week and raised around 450 Euros for Cancer research. Everybody made a real effort and the cakes were amazing … got some ideas for next Season!!

We’ve been trying out some new recipes the last couple of weeks and found a great Ricotta tart with sundried tomatoes which will be on the menu this year as well as a Raspberry Crumble Bakewell Tart.

For remembrance day we headed to the Church in Villaroger and Sainte Foy and watched the ceremony. Then a few of us came back to the Tipi for soup and cookies and an afternoon of sledging.

One of the kids has broken her foot but she still managed to sledge thanks to Griff our friend who carried her everywhere so she didn’t miss out, thanks Griff.

They all had loads of fun and us mum’s had a good catch up.

We still have spaces left on our Off Piste Development Week 15th – 22nd Jan  and our Back Country Access Week 19th – 26th March.

6 days fully qualified tuition included and staying in our Chalet in Les Arcs, skiing different Resorts. We can lend anyone who doesn’t have them a transceiver, shovel and probe.

The Jan week is aimed at people who like to have a go skiing off Piste but would like to improve their technique.

The Back Country Access week is the same but incorporates ski touring and an overnight stay in a refuge.

Need to start thinking about Xmas shopping now… Anneha has asked for a surprise so not sure what to get her at the minute … Fifi happy with anything arty so not as difficult.

Looking forward to seeing you all in the Chalet this Winter!
