Snow conditions for December 2016

We had our first day skiing in Val D’isere, Espace Killy last week and conditions were great.

Everyone is saying it’s the best start for Val D’isere in 20 years, we must admit the pistes and coverage were really good as was the weather, bluebird all day.

We didn’t head to Tignes as the pistes were empty and we were having such a great time in Le Fornet on the Glacier.

We tried out the new Solaise Express lift with heated seats and wifi. Its really nice and very high tech.

Last weekend we watched the World Cup downhill race in Val d’Isere and this weekend its been the Criterium de la Premiere Neige. Fantastic atmosphere and Alexis Pinturault won for France. The crowd were over the moon.

Les Arcs opened yesterday and i skied there this morning. Up high in Les Arcs 2000 was good, and everything is open including the Aiguile Rouge. Lower down there are limited pistes open but what is open has good coverage.

Once again quiet pistes and sunshine.

La Rosiere is open as is the link to Italy and La Thuile. Maison Laurent sadly has closed however we will be seeing Ilaria and Deano the owners at the new restaurant they are running in La Thuile.  Looking forward to that.

Hoping for snow next week for the opening of Sainte Foy. They have been very busy making snow and they are excellent there for getting as much open as possible.

Our menu has been tweaked and we are pleased with the end result. We discovered a new spice called Za’atar and are using it this season.

Our pulled pork has been a hit and will definitely be featuring this year.
