January in Les Arcs, French Alps

Snow has been slow for the last month, however all our guests have skied every day and we have advised on where to ski for  the best snow and conditions.

All Resorts are open, although Villaroger, Les Arcs was late opening. Les Arcs opened on time as did all the other Resorts and they did a marvellous job early season to maintain the pistes.

Next year will be much better for Villaroger as they have snow cannons in position to ensure we have coverage all the way down at the start of the Season. We have also been promised a new lift will be installed 2019 out of Villaroger to access Les Arcs.

We had a big dump on the 15th Jan and it was a perfect powder day. Once again we had Villaroger practically to ourselves as the Lanchettes Lift out of Les Arcs did not open due to the amount of snow.

We had cold temperatures after that for the Off Piste Development Week so perfect timing with snow keeping well. It went down to -15 in the Village so had to watch the pipes did not freeze.

Everyone had a fantastic time and skied things they would never have dreamed they could.

Sunshine followed the snowfall and once again guests were happy as the pistes kept in great condition.

I had my birthday weekend in January and it all went well. Thank you to everyone’s good wishes, cards and presents.

More snow is forecast for early February. The tipi is looking good and guests have enjoyed an aperitif or two in there over the past few weeks.
