April has seen some very warm temperatures, and the British Press has been giving very negative reports on the snow conditions out here. All our guests have been pleasantly surprised by the condition of the pistes , and we have advised them on the best places to ski and on which slopes to ski early morning to get the best conditions. Once again being able to ski lots of different resorts that are close by has enabled us to find the best snow that day , meaning no such thing as a bad day on the mountain!

 We skied all the way down to villaroger until 3rd April, which was brilliant as the snow was affected so much with the sun. We then downloaded on the bottom lift for the next few days before Villaroger finally closed 6th April 2011. We then accessed Les Arcs via the funicular in Bourg St Maurice which was fine.

We had a new group of Canadiens who came to stay, Bill, Mike , Cameron and Al. They loved the immenseness of the Alps and the amount of skiing we had to offer on our doorstep. They love Canada but the resorts are small and the amount of Vertical drop you can ski a lot less than us. We skied 8 resorts during their stay and they throughly enjoyed all the skiing despite the bad press the UK were giving the French Alps.

A few trips to Italy to ski La Thuile was a must. This resort had some of the best snow around in April. We were able to keep stopping at our favourite coffee stop , despite the lift out being shut, as we arranged with the owner of the bar a skidoo lift out to the top of the lift. We didn’t tell the guests and they loved the surprise when it came to leaving.

Val D’Isere provided us with good skiing until the end of April.

The girls were on holiday then so we took a trip back to the UK to see family and friends and relax.
